The Spec GT idea had been suggested, and if this could ever happen most likely the cars would have identical running gear, partly because that would be easier but mostly because doing anything non-stock beyond swapping carb would increase the cost. (I've got a tote full of Weber 32/36's.) Other than that, this would be project to live for. I mean, the birth of the Tinyvette sort of gave life around here meaning, so what would 10 more do?
Painting them all the same Rustolleum Sunburst yellow would be funny, and almost malicious, at least the corner workers would think so. The wrong cars would be getting BFs all day, but then there would be a certain justice to that. "Certain", for sure.
I've been turning away drivers recently, including a member of the Unser family. (We have a solid stable and domesticated core group.) Not enough to suggest I might actually be able to find 40 drivers, but if it got out that 10 Tinyvette were going a-racing... Nah, the flood gates would not open. Still, Bernhard is in Germany now and he's promised me he'll talk to Sabine and also Tina Ruland (starred in "Manta Manta"), plus he's keeping his Unser family connection alive. If any of that happens Danika might even finally take notice.
And Pete, it's only a crazy idea. Insane would be putting 10 'Bees together, even if I leave out the unique rollered + cartwheeled body work. 10 stock, Lemon-spec MGBs.... Insane! (You need to do it.)
