I think it needs an 8-6-4.  Variable Displacement just flat rocks, and a 928 absolutely needs a powerplant that makes use of finicky computers.

Too reliable....run a Daimler V-8 out of an SP250 or the powerhouse Simca Aquillon V-8....with Navarro heads....
