you'd think so, but the fail state for the N75 (what VAG calls the WG solenoid) is bypass, and no MAF = open loop operation, assuming the MAP is working (I should check that).
it gets worse:
for its debut (RoadAmerica 2013) and first race this season (GMan), I had the auxiliary waterpump harness connector plugged into the IAT sensor- so I was (a) sending 12V to ECM ground and (b) not having the benefit of IAT measurement. (remember PV=nRT? I was missing V & T...)
fun doesn't stop there:
between GMan and Autobahn, I also discovered the blowoff valve had a torn diaphragm. this in and of itself isn't so bad- until you realize the vac reference line used by the BOV is shared with MAP, FPR, and your diff locks. Cross "P" off the list, too.
