Either cracked or warped. Unless it's a minor external coolant leak, the rad goo won't last long.

Id sugjest pulling the head gasket out and replacing it before the race.  Spend some extra coin and get a good name brand, make sure everything is torqued right, etc, etc, etc....

That way your not taking AS MUCH of a gamble with a gasket that has been heat cycled numerous times.

Beyond that I'll echo all the good advice the other folks have already posted, good oil, good cooling, keep the revs low.
