2010 Lemons CHAMPS WILL WIN TRIP TO Le MANS
All those races, all that time, all those tetanus shots...why would any fool bother chasing the 2010 Lemons Team Title? Because starting now, besides earning the raised eyebrows of pro racers everywhere, Lemons' Team Champs will win a trip to the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Yes, the real one. The one where they don't crush a car. (Except the occasional Mercedes.)

We'll pay the LeMons-grade airfare and lodging. (If you want to fly Emirates, enter F1.) We'll hook you up with some teams to hang out with. We'll even toss in some Fodor's and Sartre. But if think winning this one will be easy, au contraire, mon heap-driving freres--check out the 2010 schedule below.

YEA But eyesore also has a bigger problem. If the drivers win, what are they going to tell their wives- GFs that also were at all the races.
Sorry were going to France and you will be staying home..  OR will the drivers be willing to shell out the extra $$ to make sure every one goes. And even more important every one is happy.

Not so quick! If I did my math correct these are the "west" standings:

1. Eyesore - 26 Points (13 Phoenix, 13 Infineon)
2. F'ed Up - 16 Points (12 Phoenix, 4 Infineon)
3. Underground - 13 Points (10 Phoenix, 3 Infineon)

So its far from over in the west at least.

I've been to LeMans great place and most hotels are good. Most places have someone that speaks english at them. Only place I have ever seen a McDonalds that serves beer.

No wait a doggone minute--  I thought the REAL winners were the IOE... So, don't they get like 1 point more than the "winner" on laps?

I say fly the cars back to the LeMans track for an exhibition race. The IOE winning cars, that is.

Don't count out the CaliCajuns. Those guys are Lemons racing machines with multiple cars in multiple regions!  They sneak under the radar and then suddenly win the 2009 National Championship for Team as well as Drivers.

There's a whole helluvalotta season left.  I'm also curious about IOE cars and how they factor in as well as the assuredly "ambiguous X-factor" that tends to permeate most of these awards.

All I know is that I read that email and was smiling for roughly 3 hours straight.  What an awesome prize for some team!

Might I recommend the Medical (waste) Inn in Birmingham, Alabama if you ever need to sample some true crap lodgings.

It was an unfortunate stop over on the BABE rally last year.  Even the fact that the hotel restaurant was a Waffle House could not make up for the craptacularness of it.

One of our teams got assigned room 218,  so they are walking down the hall, 214, 216, 240....WTF....

Back to the front desk who called maintenance who informed them that yes they switched out the door because of the shotgun holes in it and they shouldnt be giving out that room until the police are done with their investigation.

The Cali Cajuns/Cajun Coonasses are the favorites, since they enter many more races than the Eyesores and they nearly always finish in the top 10.

Hmm.  The Schumacher Taxi Service enters a lot of races, but with multiple cars/teams.  And the makeup of those teams always changes amongst the group.  How does that work for this deal?

Oh, and we need to have better finishes to have a prayer anyway.

I wouldn't get too excited about the Lodging at Le Mans. A vast number of the spectators camp. Your lodging may consist of a tent. If you are lucky they may help you set it up.

PS. Some people will argue that camping at the track is the best way to experience Le Mans.

I went to the real Le Mans race back in 1989 and it was quite the blast. Stayed up all night because I decided to go at the last minute and I lived about 2 1/2 hours away. Best racing was at 3am when driver would miss-judge the Tetra Rouge corner and almost go flying off the course. It was also cool as they headed out into the distance along the Mulsanne straight and disappeared with just their headlights lighting up the trees.

speaking of "Lemons grade airfare of lodging"....I was quite impressed at the Motel 6 I stayed at for Sears Pointless.....not bad considering $41 a night.....and it is just "past" the ghetto....so its not really in the ghetto...but I was impressed with the bullet proof glass for the night check in!!!
