Re: So who's in for Detroit Bull Oil Grand Prix?
Jesus (you said it, Mang), our hot lop on the old layout in April was 1:50. Time to ditch the MR2 and find something with some ponies?

Did I read that right 137 mph? That's hustling, I imagine thats in the long straight away. Better put some wreckers at the end of that straight. Any idea how many ppl finished the last Gingerville Raceway? Any idea if any Camaros or Firebirds survived - finished?
After a track day at GingerMan yesterday, some feedback about the new corner:
+ T11 is unchanged at this time. The diagram above is incorrect for T11.
+ New T10 has the following effects: lengthens the course by ~10sec; increases T10-11 straight speed ~20MPH; adds three new points to go off-course downhill; blind entry to T10-11 straight.
The track is raised from the surrounding land in the T10 expansion, so if you go off, you're going downhill. The grass hasn't grown in yet, so it's graded dirt at this time. The whole area is lower than the straight, so you now come onto the straight uphill, blind.
The organizers will of course survey the situation and make the "old-track" vs "new-track" decision while on-site, but after trying the new section, I'm sure it will be not be a quick decision.
I was desperately hoping the additions would increase corner radii and therefore reduce brake torture, but oh well
I'd say 110 MAX in a crapcan. A coworker just went to GMan for a track day and was able to reach 110mph in his MazdaSpeed 3 with 270hp. We were closer to 90 mph in our pathetic S30 during the ChumpCar race, but it had no top end power. Had it been running stronger we would likely see 100mph.
RagingGrandpa must have been in a fairly fast non-hooptie track car.
Lucky Monkey Racing will be there with the LMR-001b.
Sitting around watching Petit Lemans. Man I love this stuff!!!
Detroit Escort Service will be there, our first ever Lemons race! Our first time ever wheel to wheel racing too! We can't wait. Just hope the car holds up, and we don't make any stupid mistakes. Our goal is to just get through this event with the car able to compete again next year. We'd all love to do a 24 hour race, maybe Nelson next year.
Steve
Took the car out for "testing" this weekend. Successfully confused local residents that Clint Boyer had gained access to I-69.
Note to self, change the car number...
We think the cars works now. We think. Probably not, but you know, whatever. Who needs a working car?
Bringing my "little" (6'5", 260 or so) brother along for his first race. I'm 6' 2" and have issues getting comfortable in the car. Jamming him in the thing will just be comical.
Honestly, I can't wait to buy my 3x Loser patch.
One work day left and still wrenching. Sadly our last second theme idea got pushed and will have to wait till next year. We'll be on our way Friday morning. If anybody will be on I-80 through Ohio feel free to join our convoy. See you all Friday.
we're heading out early evening tonight...should get to the track early tomorrow morning.
We are hitting the road about 3pm. If you see the Enger trailer that's us.
The car's 25% of the way- I hope. I'm not leaving till lunchtime.
I'm looking forward to seeing/meeting you there!
