Re: Aero mods for a Super Beetle?!?

My only advice to air-cooled VW teams is: bring spare engines.

Has anyone in a Lemons race finished using only one Air-cooled VW engine? The one's that blew-How long did they last?

Yes. Our IOE win consisted of trying to kill one. Apparently, you can run 100 psi oil pressure and 300+ degrees oil temp all day. Who knew?

Although that engine is now our spare. Maybe we should put it back in since it refuses to die.

Re: Aero mods for a Super Beetle?!?

300 Degrees oli temp?! Holy Crap! were you running a remote cooler?
I'm running our race motor in my street car right now, and have been worrying about 215-230 oil temps.
